Liz and Alex's Rustic Boho Wedding

From the bride: My bridesmaids and I spent the night before our wedding at my uncle’s grand, old, Kentucky home. It served as an ideal space to get ready and have the first look.

I knew I wanted to use vintage amber vases in some way with Moroccan lanterns to capture a romantic bohemian vibe. Jessica with Blooms ’n Blossoms understood my vision right away and did not disappoint. She used her own garden dahlias, gorgeous roses and even incorporated succulents and other greenery into the bouquet. Peach and burgundy had never looked so beautiful. She went beyond my expectations and entwined my grandmother’s handkerchief with a special message stitched on it from my mother into my bouquet.

Our Catholic ceremony was held in my hometown of Georgetown. My father walked me the down the aisle to “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton, unusual in a Catholic mass wedding, but very fitting for myself. On the day of the wedding I gifted my father a special tie stitched with the words “Fathers and Daughters Never Say Good-Bye,” an ode to the Michael Bolton song we danced to at the reception.

Fittingly, we ended the night in full wedding attire at Goodfella’s watching the Cats beat Florida. What better way to celebrate our love than in the very first place we met.
