Timeless Polo Barn Wedding
Kylee and Kyle’s Unforgettable Wedding
From the bride: I wanted my wedding to represent my husband and I. My husband was really busy finishing up medical school so I planned our whole wedding myself. We wanted an unforgettable day that was timeless. Since we both live currently in Wisconsin we had to find wonderful vendors that would work with me from a distance. The tented area was definitely more elegant and classic with grey undertones, mahogany chiavari chairs, tall centerpieces with some smaller white washed box center pieces, Venetian Crystal chandeliers, and a black/white modern dance floor. My husband and I both did a lot of DIY for our wedding which was really fun. We carved out all these white pumpkins for floral arrangements and the florist used those to place the arrangements on our bar, gift tables, and memory table. My favorite DIY touch was working with Grainwell, they helped me design my guest book for my wedding. The final touch that I added was the take home gift for guests which had everyone's name laser cut in a dark wood that we used for both a gift and our seating place card holders.
My cake was amazing, it was a Madagascar vanilla cake with a vanilla raspberry filling and almond butter cream filling. I also added a S'mores bar under the tent with all home made ingredients that kids just loved and it was a fun touch for guests who did not want cake. The one other tip I have is to invest in a videographer, it really is such a unique experience to be able to rewatch your wedding. Kyle and I have rewatched our video so many times and it is such a neat way to share with friends and family who could not make it to the big day.
Lastly, I was a Kentucky graduate and wanted the band I always used to hear at Tin Roof for my wedding so we hired the Jordan English Band. This was really fun for me and was a unique experience for guests since up north most people just hire a DJ. Guests were so amazed at our wedding and just loved all the special touches we added to make it such a fun event. My advice for other brides is to relax, and really take in time to enjoy your wedding day. My wedding day went by so fast and we took a few minutes to have some alone time together by doing a sunset photo session. It was really fun for us to just have that time together because it truly does goes by so fast. My next word of advice is give yourself some time at the end of the night with no photographers or videographers around. We left the last two hours as a time for us to just have fun and feel like not all eyes are on us and I am really glad we did that.
Lastly, remember that your wedding day is just the start of your marriage together and it is an exciting new chapter of growing together as a couple! We really felt like we had the best wedding and have so many of my vendors to thank for that! Kentucky holds a special place for my husband and I because we hope to end up moving there for residency and we were so happy to share that piece with our family and friends!
