Something Blue with Castle & Key Distillery
There’s nothing we love more than a little “something blue” around here and Castle & Key Distillery is sharing their cocktail recipe for a pretty blue drink that’s perfect for your wedding festivities.
While you’re sipping that delicious drink, don’t forget to check out Castle & Key Distillery and keep them on your radar as an under-the-radar, non-traditional wedding venue.
Built as the historic Old Taylor distillery in 1887 by Colonel E.H. Taylor, the distillery quickly became the birthplace of bourbon hospitality – not only creating high-quality spirits but guests were surrounded by distinctive architectural charm inspired by his European travels. The historic distillery fell to ruin after 1920 when Prohibition forced the closing, causing the beauty to be forgotten and overgrown with weeds until 2014 when the 113-acre property was restored by the Castle & Key team. When restoring the property, the team had a focus on changing the narrative around Kentucky spirits. Castle & Key officially opened its doors in 2018 – and quickly became a must-visit distillery throughout the state, offering an array of Kentucky spirits from seasonal gins and vodka to bourbon and ryes. As an ideal wedding venue for a non-traditional or destination wedding, the distillery has plenty of outdoor space surrounded by natural greenery, and indoor space with a rustic yet elegant atmosphere.
