Romantic Wedding Inspiration
From the photographer: The Brown-Pusey House is a historical home in the heart of Kentucky overflowing with tradition and the perfect location for a winter wedding. The venue includes a gorgeous outdoor space, Cunningham Gardens, as well as access to the historic mansion itself. The mansion was built in 1825 and was once a boarding house, it has seen guests ranging from General Custer and famous singer Jenny Lind. It was the perfect backdrop for a colorful shoot in the dead of winter.
Our inspiration nods towards the detail and deep Kentucky history of the house and the cooler wedding season. The photos showcase not only fine art wedding details, but also rich Kentucky artifacts such as a cabinet built by the father of Abraham Lincoln and antique photos and books. We chose velvet linens to tie in with the winter feel and a mix of dried and fresh florals to pull in more color, including golden Combo roses, pink vintage carnations, dried palms, bleached ruskus, white scabiosa, and dried pink heather with textural elements and southern smilax. Even in winter, arbors are a dreamy ceremony backdrop if draped in rich green smilax. Gold and brass accents factored into the antique-feel of the venue with candlesticks, flatware, and jewelry.
Simple, organic makeup and romantic, flowing curls tied in with the table details of pears and florals, as well as the style of gown we selected.
