Kentucky Woodland Inspiration

We can't think of anything that says "Kentucky" quite like those beautiful, bourbon barrel chandeliers!

Inspiration: The inspiration for our Kentucky Woodland shoot stemmed from the custom designed bourbon barrel chandeliers found at Gentleman's Pour. Bourbon barrels are such a signature Kentucky piece; we loved working them into our shoot in a special way. We imagined them filled with gorgeous florals and suspended from the evergreen trees to create a unique and organic backdrop. We incorporated details that would enhance the woodsy setting and natural beauty of Jacobson Park.

We created a balance between masculine and feminine elements by combining a rustic farmhouse table and woodland setting with a soft, lace, and chiffon dress, elegant place settings, and gold vases. We used pops of burgundy throughout our color scheme to contrast all the brown and green tones found in nature. We blended berries, garden roses, dahlias, roses, snapdragons, astilbe, amaranthus and mixed foliage to create a loose, unstructured, overflowing bouquet and chandeliers. We wanted our florals to have an organic feel that spoke to the feminine quality of a wedding day. The floral chandeliers, garden style tablescapes, and overflowing bouquet took an atypical outdoor wedding and added a whimsical, fairy tale twist.

We designed an invitation that pulled from our rustic color palette, had torn edges to enhance the outdoor feel and incorporated elements of lace and twine to soften the overall look. We love the gold embossed monogram stamp for an added elegant touch.
Our chiffon and lace dress was perfect for the backyard, Kentucky style. The full lace back added a romantic wedding touch and the chiffon flowed as she moved. Our groom was styling in semi formal attire. His bow tie complimented the navy pops of color in our floral arrangements.
