Spencer + Kenneth's Louisville Wedding
From the Bride: Our wedding day was filled with unforgettable moments of pure love, happiness, and blessings. The exquisite details of the flower arrangements, beautiful historic venue, and uniquely bold attire perfectly accentuated our special day. The day began with the bridal party enjoying an early breakfast paired with mimosas in the upstairs quarters of the house, while getting their hair and makeup done. While the bridal party was busy with their hair, makeup, and gowns, the groomsmen gathered just across the hall to enjoy hors d'ourves, provided by the groom’s mother, while watching the play of the day on ESPN (TV graciously provided by one of the groomsmen).
From the beginning, we wanted the bridal party’s attire to accentuate the color theme for the wedding. So, the groomsmen were given all black suits with black bow ties, apart from the groom, who chose to wear an emerald green jacket that perfectly matched the bridesmaids’ individually-styled tulle dresses. The bridesmaids were given the task of picking out their own style - emerald green tulle dresses that matched each of their personalities perfectly. Finally, I chose a one-of- a kind Hayley Paige gown, in not just your typical white color, but silver! In addition, the name of the gown was called the Kenny which was her soon-to-be husband's name. Can you say fate?? Needless to say, the bridal party understood the assignment. After the bridal party was dressed and ready to go, and we had our first look, it was time for the ceremony. The ceremony took place on the front porch of the Peterson Dumesnil house where we joined together as man and wife. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour where guests were able to mingle while enjoying small bites and cocktails on the front porch. Guests then moved underneath the big white tent for the reception. Each table under the tent was arranged with bold flower arrangements and black lit candles, which was the perfect set to this chilly fall day.
Then, the bridal party made their entrance to the tent, and everyone sat down to a deliciously plated dinner courtesy of Clem Catering. After dinner, the cake was cut, speeches were given, and we toasted with champagne. Our cake was 3 tiers and each tier was a different flavor! The flavors included: chocolate with caramel buttercream icing, strawberry cake with lime cream cheese frosting, and cinnamon cake with vanilla buttercream. We also had a chocolate groom's cake that was designed after the groom's favorite NFL team, the Las Vegas Raiders! We shared our first dance to “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by Haley Reinhart. Finally, it was time for the guests to hit the dance floor! Guests enjoyed all the hit songs while others hung out at the open bar next to a well-lit marquee of the letters “I Do” which added a lovely and one-of-a-kind touch to the couple’s celebration. Guests also were able to enjoy the couple’s signature drink, “The Ruby”, which was dedicated to their dog. After dancing, merriment, and mingling it was time to for the send off. Guests gathered to wish us farewell with giant glow sticks to light the way to our happily ever after.
Bride’s Advice: Never forget this is your wedding day and it is centered around you and your husband. With that being said, your wedding can encompass whatever inspiration or vision you have and doesn't have to follow the traditional norms.
