Maggie + Joseph's Princeton Wedding
From the Bride: Our wedding day was a family affair. We were very lucky and grateful to have so many family members use their unique talents to play a role in our big day. It was not only budget friendly having lots of family members take part, but also so intimate having our loved ones double as part of our vendor team. I have 3 aunts, and each one was so crucial in making our wedding run smooth. One aunt is amazing with florals and completely took over decor and flowers. Another one of my aunts has a small business baking cakes and she created 6 beautiful and delicious cakes of all flavors (including banana pudding and lemon-blueberry, YUM!). Last but not least, my 3rd aunt helped the day run smooth by volunteering to coordinate our ceremony and reception. They all did such a fabulous job and I’m the luckiest neice to be loved by them. But that’s not all; I also had one uncle who was our pastor and another uncle behind the bar, and my grandmother complete all the alterations on my gown. They each poured their time and energy into making the day stress-free and fun. My favorite sound in the world, and the most memorable, was hearing my 8 nieces and nephews laughter throughout the day and night. They were all so excited to be flower girls and ring bearers.
Holding my husband’s hands at the altar will always be a special memory for me. I was so nervous in front of a crowd, and his hands calmed me down and made me excited to be there.
My sister was due with her 3rd baby on the day of our wedding, and it thrilled me to watch her give her Matron of Honor speech. We never thought she would actually make it to the wedding and it meant the world to me that she was able to be there.
That first drink of champagne at the reception was so good…it meant that all the wedding planning and stress was over, and it was finally time to celebrate!
