Lauren + Sam's La Grange Wedding
From the Bride: Sam and I had two main goal for our guests as we planned our wedding day - first, we wanted them to feel completely at ease and enjoy themselves. Second, the majority of our guests were from out of town so we wanted to give them a very “Kentucky” experience.
We had attended a wedding at Ashbourne Farms in the past and were completely taken away by the venue. Once we decided to get married in Kentucky, we knew this venue would be the perfect place to show off some of Kentucky’s true beauty. The Ashbourne team was great to work with, they helped to make sure that the food menu highlighted the best of the local foods, and even helped us organize a “bourbon bar” with various bourbons for our guests to taste.
When it came to our band, Sam and I both felt very strongly about finding one that was exceptional. We ended up bringing in a wonderful group from Chicago (our hometown), the Chicago Catz, and the dance floor was full the entire night. We were so happy with how the entire evening turned out - our guests continue to rave about how fun and special our wedding was.
Bride’s Advice: Definitely hire and establish a good relationship with a wedding planner/coordinator. I was SO calm the entire day because I fully trusted my coordinator and knew she had everything under control.
