Lauren + Devin's Louisville Wedding
From the Bride: My mom was the real MVP of this wedding; she is the only person I trusted to execute my vision and she led the day of coordination, along with the team from The Kelly Way, and made sure everything was set up and done perfectly. My mom also did my hair (not only is she an interior decorator she also a hair stylist). The groom's niece (Brooklynn) did my makeup.
My dress was custom made by the ladies at SewFitting; it was actually two dresses that I had the idea to turn into one. I loved the top from one and the skirt from the other, and they made my vision become a reality. I've always loved fashion and had a very particular look in mind. I wore three vintage heirloom rings on my right hand from my two grandmothers and my great aunt's engagement band that was given to me after she passed. Leading up to the wedding, I personally designed and hand letter pressed every invitation on specialty white core 4-ply cardstock. I also hand embellished vellum wraps with pearls.
We had an incredible grazing table for cocktail hour where marble stone slabs were used to sit all the different foods on. Our favorite restaurant, Havana Rumba, catered. The boys enjoyed custom cigars and matches at the cigar bar. We danced our first dance to “Biblical” by Callum Scott. I cut my bridesmaids’ dresses into a mini on the dance floor. We partied after at Tin Roof.
Bride’s Advice: It's a marathon, not a sprint. Things will go wrong, but you just have to let it roll off your back. Also, hire a day of coordinator; mine saved my day. Have a mom that's just as crazy as you are and can see the vision.
