Hayley + Corey's Covington Wedding

From the Bride: We chose to have our wedding where I grew up, in Northern Kentucky. We looked at so many venues and The Madison just spoke to us. Since most of our family members live in Louisville it turned into a sort of weekend getaway for most. Most guests stayed at the beautiful Hotel Covington where we had a block of rooms. This is where we all got ready for the big day!

We chose to keep our parties simple, just one person each. I had my best friend by my side as my Maid of Honor and Corey had his younger brother as his Best Man. I grew up with divorced parents so I had my dad and my step-dad walk me down the aisle since both played a huge role in my life. In addition to this unusual doing, I included my younger half siblings as the flower girl and ring bearer. My sister is handicapped so, my brother pushed her down the aisle as she held on tightly to her basket of flowers.

Corey saved the day when he arranged for a family to retrieve my veil she had left behind in their apartment in Louisville. Hayley realized she had forgotten her veil around 11 o’clock the night before, but had accepted she would go without it. The second my very traditional and sweet aunt got word of this, she made sure she got the veil! Corey pulled many strings and had a family member swing by to get the veil. That was only after he called the apartment complex to have someone unlock the door in order to get the veil. The day was saved and I had my veil just in time for photos!

We danced our first dance to “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele. We had signature cocktails - mine was “Pretty in Gin” - a mix of Tanqueray gin, cranberry juice, a splash of sprite, and lime juice and Corey’s was Miller Light.

Bride’s Advice: Book vendors as soon as possible!
