Haley + Cannon's Gethsemane Wedding
From the Bride: I am from New Haven and my husband is from Elizabethtown. We have been traveling the country for the past 2+ years together as travel healthcare workers. It was so, so special for us to be able to get married at home with all of our closest friends and family. But we were also able to show some of our friends from other states (as far as California and Colorado) our home and where we hope to spend our future, some day!
The weather was surprisingly warm (in the 70’s) for November coupled with rain and lots of wind! We were very grateful for our gorgeous indoor venue with those conditions and for our flexible photographers/videographers who were able to produce beautiful images without being outside.
My vision for the wedding was pretty much that I wanted something timeless & classy with a little bit of glam. It definitely came to life through all of our details which was so fun to see! Having coffee with each other, family or friends is actually one of our favorite things in life - so, we loved that we were able to have a coffee bar with our cake at the wedding. We also served flavored popcorn during our cocktail hour.
Another detail I loved was that my bridesmaids and I all stayed at the mansion the night before which was just a quick walk from our venue. It was such a gorgeous place to stay and we really enjoyed our time together that night. The girls and I got ready the morning of in the venue’s prettiest bridal suite. We felt like royalty honestly, ha ha.
We danced our first dance to “Biblical” by Calum Scott.
Bride’s Advice: Have so much fun with it! Don’t take the planning too seriously. Everything will fall together exactly how it’s supposed it be!
