Grace + Kyle's Louisville Wedding
From the Bride: My wedding day stands out to me because of the amount of love I felt. I didn't sleep much the night before and woke up bright and early for my hair and makeup call. My morning was filled with nervous jitters. I was so anxious that something big would happen - a vendor not showing, someone dropping the cake, a sudden rain shower, etc. I actually spent most of the morning like this- not very ideal. But my nervousness disappeared when my now-husband and I did our first look. At that moment, all of the nerves went away, and I was so excited to celebrate what the day was truly about.
Not only did I feel immense love from Kyle, but I was also overwhelmed by the amount of love I felt from our friends and family. While planning, I kept trying to "shrink" the guest count as much as I could for budget reasons. I would go over and over the list with my mom to see if everyone who RSVP'd really would make it. Now I realize that being surrounded by 250+ people whose sole purpose on September 2, 2023, was to celebrate Kyle and Grace Kelly is truly a blessing. We had speech after speech, toast after toast, of testaments to not only our love but also our character. Often, I believe that people wait until it's too late to show each other what one means to another. However, on that day, each and every one of our guests made us feel loved, blessed, and supported in our marriage.
Looking back, I realize the cake, the song selection (first dance was “Joy of My Life” by Chris Stapleton, the perfectly coordinated timeline of events, etc., were so irrelevant in the grand scheme of the day. While every detail went into making our wedding day great, the love we felt made the day perfect!
Bride’s Advice: Show appreciation for all of your friends and family who help make the big day so special. While this is a big day for the bride and groom, your friends and family are traveling, paying for a hotel, buying new outfits, etc. just to celebrate with you. At first I was a little overwhelmed by all the people we had RSVP, but on our wedding day, I was amazed to see so many people there simply to celebrate our love with us. It was an amazing feeling to realize how loved we are!
