Emma + Cameron's Versailles Wedding
From the Bride: There is nothing better than an October day in Kentucky! Our wedding weekend started with a beautiful day at Keeneland, which our out-of-town guests got to experience for the first time, followed by our rehearsal dinner on a horse farm in Nicholasville.
So many little things about our wedding day made it special. After our first look at The Galerie, we went to the beautiful Pisgah Presbyterian Church for pictures, the horses from the “neigh”boring farm and our family dog joined in on the fun. It was important to us to incorporate family members who are no longer with us into our day. To honor the bride’s grandfather who recently passed away, all of the men in her family wore ties that belonged to him, including her father who walked her down the aisle. The bride’s bouquet included an orchid representing her great grandfather who was in the orchid business. The bouquet was wrapped in fabric from her grandmother's wedding dress, a ribbon from her great-great grandmother’s wedding in 1889, and a cameo necklace purchased in Italy during World War II by her grandfather.
During the reception we had signature mocktails named after our two cats, Stanley and Stella. Live music is very important to the both of us so we incorporated music throughout the day. Our seating chart was an album wall, including some of our favorite bands and artists that we have seen in concert. We had a string trio for our ceremony music and a family member played guitar during the cocktail hour. Our first dance was to “Feels Like Home” by Bonnie Raitt because the groom said “I knew Emma was the one because she feels like home.” Our final dance was to “Shake the Frost” by Tyler Childers. We exited the reception to our family and friends lined up outside throwing confetti.
Bride’s Advice: Take 5 minutes, you and your partner alone, before or after the ceremony to share vows in private or take in the moment together.
