Emily + Marty's Danville Wedding
From the Bride: My husband and I both grew up in Kentucky and we have always appreciated the unique beauty that Kentucky brings- especially in the fall. When it came to planning our wedding, we wanted to keep the theme true to the love for our home state. We chose a venue that was located on the beautiful rolling hills of KY overlooking a horse farm with an unbeatable view for a sunset. The top of the highest hill, where the ceremony was held, felt like your heads were in the clouds of heaven. The reception was held in the Bluegrass Wedding Barn with a beautiful rustic interior to match the warm and inviting look I was searching for. I loved balancing the beautiful rustic interior with gold and terracotta accents to truly bring my fall wedding dreams to life.
My husband and I had the privilege of sharing this day with our beautiful daughter, Millie. We joke that the whole day was truly planned in her honor - to celebrate the love of our family and our commitment to each other. The most special part of the day for us was our vows. When exchanging vows, my husband and I exchanged them not only with each other, but with Millie too. Millie was presented with a Maple & J Bracelet when we exchanged our wedding bands. It was a very special moment that we will cherish forever.
The details of the day are what truly brought it all together for me. From our beautiful memory table to cherish our loved ones who have passed, to the 7 flower girls and 1 ring bearer in our ceremony to celebrate our big family, to our table settings designed with photographs of our daughter, to my surprise KY groom's cake for my husband, to our massive wedding party to celebrate the friendships that supported Marty and I through it ALL. We danced our first dance to “Beyond” by Leon Bridges.
My Kentucky-loving husband has coined the nickname 'Tucky' so we had a 'Tucky's Titos' signature drink that was a take on a vodka soda - with blood orange liqueur and served with a blood orange. We also had a 'Fall Fashioned' - a take on a fall Old Fashion Bourbon cocktail. And of course we finished off the night with a late night cocktail - Em's Espresso Martini - the bride's favorite! I am grateful that we took the extra time and effort to ensure our day was everything we imagined.
Bride’s Advice: Appreciate the little moments with closest loved ones during this special time in life - I will forever cherish the time my mom and I spent together planning this perfect day and I will never forget my dad telling me to 'just breathe' when we were walking down the aisle.
