Emily + Clark's Louisville Wedding

From the Bride: Our day finally arrived on May 29th, 2022. Clark is an officer in the Army and months leading up to the day, we were dealing with the stress of a possible deployment and postponement. After a few years of distance, we were beyond relieved our day went on as planned. We picked Hazelnut Farm for the outdoor experience and rain plan for the unpredictable KY weather. Thankfully, we were able to have our outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. We wanted our wedding to be timeless for years to come but to also represent us. I fell in love with blue & white floral, chinoiserie designs and wanted this incorporated throughout our day.

The morning went by slow and was all the more special with my best friends from all over. I enjoyed spoiling the girls with little gifts and notes to them, letting them know how much I appreciated them being there for me on this day. My girls returned the favor and surprised Clark and me with a live wedding painter at our reception. Our first look was so special to have a moment together before we became husband and wife. In our breathtaking ceremony, Clark and I exchanged our vows and took communion in the presence of God and our closest friends and family. Walking back down the aisle is a distinct moment I'll always remember looking at my now-husband and hearing the beautiful string quartet. Our cocktail hour was so much fun to mingle, have a drink and mini hot browns with our guests in true Kentucky fashion.

With the death of my grandparents in the past few years among other family members who have passed, I wanted to make sure they were incorporated in the day through various pieces of jewelry, my grandfather's handkerchief around my bouquet, and even China plates at our head table which belonged to my great great grandmother. As we entered the reception, we had our first dance, which we decided we wanted to be fun and upbeat to Frankie Valli's 'Can't Take My Eyes off You'; Clark says this was his favorite part of the night! I would argue he thoroughly enjoyed stuffing the cake in my face. The speeches by my best friend, Clark's best friend and my sister truly left us in awe and feeling so loved. It was so special to look around the room and see all of our favorite people in one place. We had the best night ever, dancing on stage and celebrating with our friends and family. We ended the night with mini burgers & buffalo chicken minis from Drake's, one of our favorite places. A night we will remember forever!!

Bride’s Advice: Don't sweat the small stuff throughout planning! It ALL will work out.
