Chloe + Alex's Boulder Wedding

From the Bride: Once we realized the toll that planning a big wedding can take, we decided to have a small destination wedding with our closest family in Boulder, Colorado. Even though we hadn’t visited Colorado prior to the wedding, we always felt drawn to the beautiful landscape and unique charm that Colorado offers. We stayed at the Chautauqua Park Cottages prior to the wedding, where each family unit rented small, quaint cottages that overlooked the Flatiron Mountains.

We wanted our day to be peaceful and intentional, so we spent the morning quietly getting ready with our families in their respective cottages. While I was getting my hair and makeup done, my mom sewed a piece of my late grandfather’s shirt into my dress, which brought me a sense of peace and comfort. It was so special getting to share that day with my family! Once it was time for our first look, I was able to walk out the front door of my cottage onto the trail in front of the Flatiron Mountains. I got to see Alex for the first time in one of the most beautiful places I had ever been. It felt like a fairytale!

Our ceremony was on top of Flagstaff Mountain at the Sunrise Amphitheater, which overlooks the city of Boulder. The sun started to set, and light began to come through the trees just as we began our ceremony. It made the space glow in a way we had never experienced! After the ceremony, we traveled to the Boulder Riverside in shuttle buses. The Riverside is located behind Boulder Creek, so the sounds of flowing water were prevalent throughout our reception.

We danced under twinkle lights located by the creek, had donuts, strawberry cake, and brownies, and shared our first dances together. Our first dance was to Love Someone by Lukas Graham. It was a casual, yet dreamy evening! Although there are many special people we couldn’t celebrate with, I wouldn’t change a thing about our small and intimate wedding!
