Amanda + Michael's Louisville Wedding

From the Bride: We both knew from the moment we got engaged that we wanted an indoor ceremony and reception. At the same time, we didn't want to compromise on space and lighting. I was so excited when I learned of a new venue being built that would check all of our boxes. The bright and airy greenhouse vibe was exactly what we had in mind. The weather ended up being perfect that day, so we got to utilize the outdoor courtyard for cocktail hour. I thought it was the best of both worlds.

I woke up the morning of our wedding buzzing with excitement, like a kid on Christmas morning. After finishing hair and makeup and getting in a few bites of a sandwich, I couldn't believe it was already time to get dressed. From there the time flew by, but in the best way. We kept our bridal party small, with each of us having our sibling as Matron of Honor and Best Man, but we still wanted some of our closest friends to be included in a meaningful way. At the suggestion of our photographer, Susan, we invited them to come early for pre-ceremony cocktails and photos. They also got to take a few solo and couple shots, which we framed and gifted to them later. Everyone said that was such a thoughtful idea and I loved that we got to give them that.

The photos we took in the venue's speakeasy are my absolute favorite. In our planning sessions, I had told Susan I wanted to do some fun shots that weren't necessarily your typical bridal portrait style, and she did a tremendous job of capturing that. Altogether it was such an amazing day. Seeing all of our ideas and planning come to life was the best feeling. We wanted a big party with all of our friends and family, and I think we achieved that.

We had a hummingbird and banana flavored cutting cake. We wanted to include our dog, Otto, since he couldn't actually be there, so we added a figurine of him taking a bite out of the cake. It was a big hit. We also had a chocolate Groom's cake and assorted mini desserts. We danced our first dance to “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers.

Bride’s Advice: Allow yourself more time than you think you'll need to finalize all of the last minute details.
