Madison + Garrison's Calvert City Elopement

From the Bride: It was three days before our wedding day when I received a call from Garrison that would change everything. Garrison tested positive for Covid-19. As we talked through all of our options, we both knew we couldn't wait any longer. Garrison and I had been dating since my freshman year of high school and had been dreaming of this day for what felt like eternity. Because we only had a month to re-plan and a limited guest list of just our family, we decided to have our dream wedding at my childhood home in Western Kentucky. My house was very special to us to say the least. It was the place for our many "firsts". Our first date, first kiss, first time we said I love you, and where he asked me to marry him. Little did I know, this sudden change of plans would result in the most intimate and memorable wedding day!

The day started with my mom transforming our living room into a beautiful Christmas wedding ceremony. As she was decorating, I was getting ready in my room and putting on the cutest white cocktail dress that I had found last minute on Poshmark! I paired it with handmade earrings and a short shoulder-length veil from the House of White boutique. Shortly after I got ready, it was time for the first look. Because I wasn't wearing my actual wedding dress, I truly didn't think our first look would be as emotional, but I was completely wrong! As I walked down the stairs off our balcony to see Garrison, we were both filled with lots of tears and emotion. We were both at a loss of words and embraced this special moment, right where everything began.

Our ceremony began as we walked down the aisle hand-in-hand in the presence of our immediate family members. It was Garrison's dad that married us, performing the most sentimental and memorable wedding ceremony we could have asked for. The ceremony concluded with lots of tears and hugs from our loved ones. We ended the day with reminiscing on old times and eating delicious cake made by Garrison's mother. Even though it might not have been the day I had originally envisioned, I wouldn't have done it any other way. We can't wait to celebrate with our friends in family in 2021! Why not marry you best friend twice?!
