Sarah + Zane's Classic Lexington Wedding

From the Bride: Zane and I are high school sweethearts. Our wedding was everything I had ever dreamed it would be since we first fell in love so many years ago. We are both Kentucky natives and really wanted a venue that showed off that iconic Kentucky beauty to our out of town guests. The Thoroughbred Center really did just that. The rolling hills of a horse farm was the backdrop for our ceremony. We had an arch draped in white fabric and blue hydrangeas that were from my parent’s garden. My family's backyard is a very special place to me because it is home to endless childhood memories and the place where Zane and I got engaged! We decided to do a first look before the ceremony and it is a moment that I will never forget. Seeing the love of your life for the first time on the day you say “I do” to forever is just an indescribable feeling of pure happiness. We shared our handwritten personal vows to one another during our first look and I am grateful for that intimate moment we got to have together. Before the ceremony began, I added a very special accessory to my bridal look. It was my mom’s cathedral veil she wore when she married my dad 41 years ago. We always joked that Zane wouldn’t cry on our wedding day. It was a very heartfelt moment to see him shed a tear as I made my way down the aisle.

Zane’s favorite part of the wedding day was definitely the food. He will proudly state that he was in charge of planning the reception dinner and he absolutely nailed it! We had our very favorite local Lexington restaurant cater our day. It helped add our own delicious flair to our wedding while also being cost effective!

We can both agree that one of the best parts of our wedding day was the people we got to share it with. It was incredibly special to have family and friends who have loved and supported us over the years there to celebrate the day that finally arrived. We all literally danced the night away during the reception. My personal favorite dance floor moments were a giant conga line to, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, led by our flower girl, and everyone belting out, All I Want for Christmas Is You (our wedding was in September). We could not have hoped for a better beginning to our new adventure together as husband and wife.
