Savannah + Brandon's Hidden Homestead Wedding

From the Bride: Brandon and I have been together for 6 years and as high school sweethearts that started off as just prom dates. We wanted our wedding to represent the amount of love and happiness we share with one another. Now what makes our wedding stand out? Well many little touches are what made our day memorable. I made our wedding website and wedding programs and also wrote a majority of the calligraphy on the handmade signs. Our Mr. & Mrs. Chair decorations were handmade by my sister, the maid of honor. Brandon picked our venue, he knew it was our venue before I did. After viewing it, he looked at me and said "This is it." Sure enough, he was right. We didn't have a set theme or color; we just decided on a blush color palette and ran with it. The bridesmaids wore dresses in different colors and styles. I had babysat our flower girls since they were born, so to have them in our wedding was so special. Their dresses were handmade by a family member giving them that personal touch.

A fact about Brandon and I is that we are obsessed with the Marvel Universe so it was only necessary that the groomsmen wore Marvel socks and our first dance song was to "Come and Get Your Love" from Guardians of the Galaxy. For the ceremony I recorded myself singing Elvis Presley’s song, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” and had it played when I walked down the aisle. It was a big surprise to Brandon because he had no idea it was going to be me singing it. Our Pastor is one of Brandon’s good friends so that was special to us. We hand wrote our vows but read them to one another, just us. Because at the end of the day it is just us for a lifetime and that was much more intimate than at the altar. Spoiler alert.... I cried.

My father and I did a funny father-daughter dance which included thriller, some hip hop, free-stylin’, and a little disco boogie. My husband’s favorite part was his groom’s cake. My husband is an E.M.T., currently about to finish paramedic school, so we had an ambulance groom’s cake which was made to resemble the actual ambulance he drives every night for the Medical Center. Lastly, our vendors were remarkable. My hairstylist, Bailey, is my friend from high school and did some magical fairytale braids on my bridal party. For our florist, Jules, I told her our blush palette and to surprise me because all I wanted was a unique daring bouquet and man, she delivered. Our videograher was mostly known for hunting videos so a wedding video wasn't his main forte’ but he produced an astounding video for us. It captured our true emotions and showcased the greatest amount of joy that we had celebrating our love for each other with our friends and family.
