From the Bride: Brian grew up in Owensboro and I fell in love with the gorgeous downtown riverfront. The theme of the wedding was classic elegance with a touch of contemporary spring garden details. The clean lines, drapery, and crisp white florals contrasted beautifully with the powder blue linens, lush greenery, and gold accents.

The ceremony took place at the elegant St. Stephen Cathedral located in the heart of downtown Owensboro. The Cathedral was historic and grand, but the the attire was completely contemporary. The men wore classic black tuxedos, the bridesmaids wore delicate powder blue gowns, and I wore a contemporary open back gown with a grand train and even grander veil. The reception was only a few blocks away at the Owensboro Convention Center. The contemporary architecture and beautiful balcony views made for an elegant evening. Guests sipped drinks and took photographs overlooking the Ohio River while they waited for the reception to begin.

Subtle details kept our guests happy and made our day a little extra special. To keep the party going all night long we had a late night nacho bar, coffee bar, and tons of glow sticks to go around. To keep the little ones entertained there were little gift bags complete with coloring books and crayons. Our favorite detail was the bird cage for "marriage advice for the lovebirds." The next morning we read all of the sweet advice from friends and family.

Our favorite wedding day moment was taking the riverfront sunset pictures on the balcony of the reception venue. We darted over to the reception venue immediately after the ceremony ended trying to catch the end of the sunset. I even ripped my veil while I practically sprinted down the cathedral steps. It was totally worth it! It was so special to share our first married moments together in such a quiet and beautiful place. Our photographer captured our candid joy and the photos turned out absolutely beautifully.
