Rebecca and Tyler’s Timeless Wedding
From the Bride: We wanted our wedding to be both timeless and personalized. We made sure to incorporate elements that reflected our personalities and who we are as a couple. For example, Tyler was born in Mississippi and that is where we got engaged, so we selected a reception venue that had a southern antebellum feel. We also had several other personalized elements such as our cake topper which featured a Kentucky State Trooper silhouette in the place of a traditional groom, a special dance for our grandparents, a unity ceremony where we mixed colored glass that we will make into a vase as a forever keepsake, and a sendoff bathed in the lights of a Kentucky State Police cruiser.
I personally have two favorite wedding day moments. The first was after our sendoff. Tyler and I accompanied by our DJ, Photographer, and Videographer snuck back into the reception area so that Tyler and I could have a private dance. It was a chance for he and I to have one last moment to soak everything in that had happened over the course of the day. The other was during the reception. There was a moment where I was sitting at our table and just took in everything around me. I was in absolute awe at all of our loved ones that had traveled to celebrate with us laughing and celebrating, and the absolutely beautiful day that we had as a celebration of our love.
For Tyler, it was the drive to the reception. My parents own a vintage Mercedes which they decorated with bows, balloons and cans for us to drive to the reception. After finishing up photos at the church, we had a 20-minute drive to ourselves where we were able to enjoy each other’s company as new husband and wife, and truly appreciate and enjoy what we had just done.
