Madison and Samuel's Fun Florida Wedding

From the bride: Our wedding day started out in its own unique way. Once we decided that the perfect spot for our destination wedding was going to be Amelia Island, our most recent favorite family vacation spot, we also knew that we were going to incorporate all of our favorite pieces of the island into our special day. Those sweet southern trees are so gorgeous, I couldn't imagine any better scenery for our wedding day! On our first beach trip together, we watched the sunrise on the last day before we headed home as we talked about our future together. To have our first look on the beach at time for sunrise only seemed fitting... and it was amazing! I could see Sam’s shadow in the morning light while I walked over the dunes to meet my groom! As we sat on our blanket in the sand, just the two of us, before the commotion of the day began, we talked about our excitement for all that was to come that day and in the rest of our lives, we read our notes to each other as we exchanged wedding day gifts, we danced like no one was watching, and we watched the sunrise together just as we had on our first trip!

Once we did our first look, we came back to the beach house where we were greeted by our wedding party and breakfast. We did a good freshen up, and I even rocked a second look for the day! It was time for an up-do and some bright lipstick! Once we dressed together with our wedding party (who we dearly love~they were each one FABULOUS!), I can remember spending the day getting all of those perfect photo ops at all of my favorite island spots. And then.... it was time! Sam and I went our separate ways for a few minutes before the wedding. When it was time to head over to the beach access for our ceremony, I was met with a surprise from my dad when a Rolls Royce pulled up to the door to drive me to my soon-to-be husband! I was in complete shock, but my daddy made our ride together so special, it was just us in that beautiful car in the moments before he would give me away. We made our way to the sand and I stood there and admired how perfect this day was. The sun was shining, we were surrounded with our family and friends, and the man of my dreams was waiting for me. As the most beautiful flower girls led the way, they dropped dried flower petals that my mom had saved from the time I was born from all of the special moments in my life! She had kept them with labels so when my wedding day would come, I would have all of those memories with me. From flowers from my dad at the hospital on my birthday to funerals of loved ones who couldn’t be there on my day to all of the flowers that Sam had sent me prior to our wedding day, they were all included! Her idea was so special and unique to our day, and what a gesture! And to make this moment even more special, I was about to walk down the aisle in the wedding dress of my dreams! Better yet, my something blue was sewn in the underneath of it. I took a baby blue button and ribbon from my grandmother’s wedding dress and made it part of my own! She’s been a role model to me for as long as I can remember, and she was almost as excited for my wedding day as I was. It couldn’t have been a better fine detail for my big day!

I made my way to my guy (of course, Sam says this was the highlight of the day!) and the rest is history. We said our vows and I Do’s and celebrated for the rest of that amazing night! To give one favorite part of the day is so hard, BUT one of my favorites has to be our father daughter dance! We surprised everyone at the reception with a special ending that was our favorite handshake (copied from the Parent Trap) that we had done so many times over the years from my childhood, all the way up until my wedding day. That set the tone for the rest of the night and everyone there enjoyed the dance floor until time for our sweet sparkler sendoff! It was the most perfect, magical day!
