Taylor and Logan's Romantic Wedding
From the bride: My favorite wedding day moment was sitting at the head table during dinner, watching all of our loved ones come together. It was actually an incredible moment considering all of these people who have been special to us at various points in our lives were all in the same room.
The unique things: Rather than party favors that get tossed or lost, we did a late night snack of soft pretzels. Those were a hit! Instead of a garter toss, I iced my groom. There was no garter to begin with, but I let the DJ start playing the song, all the guys gathered at the front, and he went through all the motions until he found the bottle under my dress! My groom and I also choreographed our own first dance - he was very adamant about not swaying back and forth for two minutes, and we didn’t have time to squeeze in lessons, so we taught ourselves!
The last thing that made our day stand out is that while my groom had 7 groomsmen, I had only 6 bridesmaids, plus a silent bridesmaid. I lost my best friend to a tragic accident a couple summers ago. She would have been the best maid of honor and often through the process, I found myself thinking how much easier the planning would have been if she was there - she had an eye for beautiful details and was great at bringing people together through events. I couldn’t have my big day without her by my side, so I put her photo and a vase at the front in line with the other bridesmaids, and when the corresponding groomsmen walked down the aisle, he put a rose in her vase to signify that she was there.
