Intimate and Elegant Country Plantation Wedding

From the bride: Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of even if it was a little bit rainy! Our bouquets and table settings were full of beautiful white flowers and greenery and hints of gold. I still dream of my Hayley Paige gown and how the train swept behind me as I walked down the grand staircase. I can still feel the calmness of that day because nothing has felt more right. We had pictures of our parents and grandparents to display the love that we both came from. My mom also put her touch on the day by gathering pictures of us while growing up and placing them on the tables so our guest could have a good laugh, and I mean a good laugh because some pictures weren't very flattering! Justin and I wanted to do something in lieu of wedding favors for our guests, so we sponsored a child from Haiti.

Since it was Derby day it seemed fitting that it would rain on our special day. My favorite moment was just after the ceremony when the sun came out and cast a rainbow in the sky. I could feel the Lord's love for us and the promise he made, so special. Justin's favorite moment was our first look and I can remember it so well. I could hardly contain my squeals of excitement and as he turned around he already had tears in his eyes, ugh my heart! During the ceremony, Justin and I took communion together, our first meal as husband and wife. We prayed and embraced one another and thanked the Lord for bringing us together, because His timing is so perfect.

My advice for brides that are planning their wedding is to enjoy every second of it, yes it can be stressful and time consuming but it flies by! Your wedding is a reflection of who you are as a couple and every detail should be exactly what you want. Have fun, make memories, and take pictures throughout the entire process! It will be fun to look back on the memories.
