RHEAGAN AND DUSTIN CELEBRATE AT SOUTHERN SPRINGS
From the bride: For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of an outdoor wedding. We found the perfect location surrounded by corn fields, ponds, and a beautiful countryside. The vintage Silo and the gorgeous Kentucky sunset served as the perfect backdrop for my favorite wedding photos. The color palette was slate blue and navy; accented with burgundy, blush, cream and luscious greenery. For the bridesmaid dresses, I knew I wanted something different than the typical short dresses I had seen before. I chose a long, haltered dress designed by Bill Levkoff in slate blue, that complemented the navy suits worn by the groomsmen. My wedding dress had a sweetheart neckline, covered in lace and sequins from the top all the way down to the train. It was exactly what I had imagined to wear on my special day!
My flowers were absolutely amazing! Danielle Renshaw (florist and coordinator) created the most beautiful cascading bouquet consisting of burgundy dahlias, blue thistle, eucalyptus and blush roses. The ladies had similar bouquets with burgundy and blush roses, cream hydrangeas, and a variety of greenery. The groomsmen had a simple blush rose, blue thistle and snip of greenery for their boutonnieres. For our cake we did a simple, four-tier strawberry buttercream topped with flowers. We wanted to have a variety of options for our guests so we also served chocolate, vanilla and orange cream cupcakes. The guests loved the different options and everything was delicious!
The reception was by far my favorite part of the day! It took place in a large barn with a sliding door that offered a cool breeze for guest while they danced the night away. White fabric as draped along the outside of the barn to greet guests. Every other table offered a different item of décor; whether it be the stained wooden boxes stuffed white hydrangeas, burgundy roses and greens or lanterns surrounded by a circle of eucalyptus greens. We used a slate blue napkin on the table in continue with the color palette inside the barn. The bridal party sat along farm style tables decorated with long eucalyptus garland. White fabric hung behind the tables to finish the look.
Dustin and I are complete taco lovers. We had every intention of serving a taco/fajita bar at our reception. I submitted our love story into a Moe's Southwest Grill contest for a chance to win free catering for our wedding. To our surprise, we were the lucky couple chosen. We had a huge fajita bar offering a variety of meat, toppings, queso and chips and salsa. We had an open bar which served margaritas, our signature drink, and multiple types of beer. The food and drink menu was a total hit!
