Horse Farm Engagement

Horse Farm Engagement

We love family history and how this couple incorporated their respective roots in their beautiful engagement session.

From the bride: Destiny. That's the word we would both use to describe how we have come to be and why we have come to be. It was destined. That sounds cheesy and pretentious but it goes deeper than that. It's in our roots. Our very DNA that flows through us that says you two are meant to be because our ancestors made choices that impacted our lives and it caused a ripple effect that brought us to this point. So like I said...destiny. So in our shoot we wanted to honor those that came before us and show where we came from. This is actually a running theme through out our wedding and it's filled with hidden family treasures dating several generations back. We are both from big families and family is important. Our engagement session took place at Kalarama Horse Farm which is an American Saddlebred farm started by my grandparents Paul and Frances Hamilton who have since passed on and now owned by my Aunt Joan Hamilton. This farm was my backyard growing up and a place where all of our family gatherings took place. It was full of memories. I am wearing two mink furs of my grandmother's (Frances Hamilton's) that were passed down to my mother and Clint has his Grandfathers cufflinks.
