A Backyard Wedding Affair

ALEX AND ZACK'S BACKYARD WEDDING WAS THE PERFECT MIX OF CLASSIC AND CASUAL.

From the bride: Since I was a young girl, I had planned on having my wedding at my parents’ home in Jeffersontown, Kentucky. I originally thought I would not have bridesmaids, but since my husband has sisters, it was necessary! Since I had always wanted an all-white wedding, I decided they would wear ivory like me. They all picked and bought their own dresses for the wedding. They were not all from the same designer. I wanted the wedding to be simple, romantic, intimate, and that's exactly how it ended up! We could not have been happier with the end product. My family and friends spent the Friday before the wedding decorating all of the tables in the tent and making the bouquets. The bouquets consisted of white roses, white hydrangeas, green hydrangeas, baby's breath, and greenery. She helped bring my vision to life. The dress I wore was actually the second dress that I had bought, because I changed my mind about the first one (typical of me). "The one" was Vera Wang White. My cake was made by a family friend, Rusty Weihe, and the flavors were strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla.

From the photographers: This wedding was an absolute dream! Filled with so much love, family and personal details. Alex's mother passed away tragically in a car accident just weeks before the wedding and her family rallied behind her and put together a gorgeous wedding! So many family members and family friends pitched in and made sure that the wedding went off without a hitch. From the family friend who catered (delicious food!) to the unique china that was at each place setting (gathered from flea markets, thrift stores and family heirlooms) to the arbor for the ceremony built by her uncle and a friend - everything was perfect. Alex, Zack and Zack's father also did all of the signage themselves. SO many personal details!! Alex & Zack are such an amazing, strong and fun couple. Their love for each other and for their families is almost tangible. They will always be one of our favorite couples.
