Pretty in Pink: A Real Kentucky Wedding
Pretty in Pink
A CLASSIC WEDDING WILL NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE.
We love all the "pretty" in this classic Kentucky wedding. The bride put thought into the details, especially in her bouquet and tribute to her late grandfather. Enjoy!
From the bride: We had such a beautiful day from start to finish! Two words that described my vision for the wedding were, fairy-tale. With that idea in mind I knew my color palette needed to be soft and romantic. Blush pink, navy, and gold made the perfect combination for my vision. Our wedding was made possible by all of our loving friends and family. The wedding planner is a cousin to the groom and she made sure that everything went smoothly and ensured that our vision was fulfilled. The flowers were purchased from Sam's Club and put together by yet another family member. She most definitely has a green thumb! I wanted dramatic and large flower arrangements and she delivered just that!
The morning of the wedding began with me and all of my lovely ladies in our hotel suite prepping and primping for the day to come. All of us girls got ready while listening and dancing to some of our favorite 90's hits. I put so much time and thought into every little detail and it most definitely made the day even more special. My bouquet was complete with unique vintage broaches, my dress with Cinderella like sparkle, but by far the most sentimental detail was a small blue fabric heart sewn into the bodice made from a piece of my late grandfather's shirt. Even though he couldn't be there in person, he was there in spirit and was even able to walk his granddaughter down the aisle. We shared our first look in a quaint Kentucky apple orchard and after a few sweet moments together following that first glimpse, we headed off towards downtown to capture the special bride/groom portraits everyone dreams of hanging over the mantle in their first home together. All in all, our day was nothing short of a picture perfect fairy-tale.
We both agreed that our favorite part of our big day was seeing everyone dance and enjoy themselves at the reception. Nothing makes us happier than seeing our friends and family celebrating their love for us.
Bride to bride: My advice for brides planning their wedding is to simply enjoy the process, every single step. In the moment it may seem like a never ending process but knowing in the end you are marrying your best friend and it will all be worth it.
From the photographer: After more than 5 years of being wedding photographers, we can honestly say that there are few things that bring us more joy on a wedding day than getting to experience (and capture) the close bond many of our brides and grooms share with their parents. We love seeing the happy tears, the hugs, and the sweet interactions between our couples and their parents during one of the biggest days of their life. Chelsie and Casey were no exception; it was so much fun watching their two separate families come together as one, sharing in laughter, dancing and celebrating the union of two wonderful people.
