Happy Brunch Wedding

How appropriate that this couple's last name is "Happy." This gorgeous brunch wedding is full of happiness and we are so excited to share it with y'all!

From the bride: When Turron and I got engaged we knew that we wanted our day to be centered around our family becoming one. With three children between us, we decided on an early morning brunch wedding. Our favorite moment of the day was when we joined hands with the kids as the pastor performed a family blessing. Our recessional was to "Happy" by Pharrell because with 'Happy' as your last name do you really have another option?

Planning the reception was my favorite part. I wanted our guests to feel relaxed and to be able to enjoy the afternoon with friends and family. We decided to have lawn games across the lawn. When we decided on brunch I knew we had to have Burke's Bakery do the donuts. They were such a hit they were gone before we fixed our plates! I worked closely with the caterer on a brunch menu that had a bit of a Kentucky twist. Both Turron and I come from families full of great cooks. I wanted to make sure the food tasted and was displayed as good, if not better, than we would do it.

The menu consisted of passed mini hot browns and shrimp and grit cakes. The buffet opened with mini chicken and waffles with a peach bourbon syrup, an asparagus egg strata, bacon and sausage, hash brown casserole, biscuits, gravy, and fruit skewers. A friend and co-worker from Atlanta drove homemade jams and jellies including a mint julep jelly to accompany the biscuits. She also brought homemade accompaniments for the Bloody Mary bar. Rounding out the bar we also had a mimosa bar, 'Cougar Bait' from our favorite local brewery Country Boy. We had a perfect first dance, had a few laughs and shed a few tears listening to speeches from our best friends, one of which introduced us 13 years ago.

The afternoon was absolutely perfect. At one point I stood back and looked around and everyone was socializing, making new friends and truly enjoying themselves. We had around 20 kids there who were running and playing tag, dancing and playing games. My cousin, DJ Sleepy T, was kind enough to come down from Louisville to play a perfect mix of music. At the end of the day most of the people were gone but we had a small group of our closest friends who we got to sit around and visit with. The day was literally perfect.

Planning a wedding can be stressful but it can also be a lot of fun. It is the one day in your life that most of the people that you and your husband love most will all be in one place. If I was going to offer advice to a bride it would be to have fun, get a day of coordinator, and choose vendors that you trust. I was fortunate to have an amazing group of people help me through the planning process and make sure every little detail was perfect!

From the photographer: I have watched this couple grow and come completely into their own. Anyone who's around them will say the same thing - they are just amazing people inside and out! They always put a smile on my face and make my creativity explode! This wedding took place at Warrenwood Manor. This venue is so incredibly beautiful! They had brunch, champagne, and all the good stuff! From beautiful bouquets, to the Kentucky barn feel, it was just perfect.
