From the Bride: We had our ceremony and reception on the stage of the historic Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, KY. The theater is almost 100 years old, with an Art Deco architecture that’s especially unique for an Eastern Kentucky venue. The stage offered a beautiful mix of history and intimacy and made for a perfect environment for our celebration. My brother-in-law baked the cupcakes and cake for us and we had an amazing DJ and danced all night!

Rather than a single cake, we worked with a local baker to come up with custom cupcake flavor combinations based on some of our favorite things! Our final choices were White Chocolate Matcha (Matcha cake, white chocolate ganache, honeyed matcha buttercream, oat cookie) Wedding cake (butter cake, vanilla bean buttercream) Pumpkin latte (pumpkin cake, salted caramel, coffee buttercream, candied pecans) Chocolate strawberry (devils food cake, strawberry jam, chocolate buttercream, candied strawberry)

We danced our first dance to ”Wake Up” by Coheed and Cambria. We bonded over this band when first dating and saw them play this song live at a concert together early in our relationship.

Bride’s Advice: I feel that the trick to low stress is to not have super specific visions for things. Just have a “vibe” in mind and let people who want to help help. It made it so special that my brother-in-law made the cupcakes, my mom made the flower arrangements, and my friends all helped decorate.
