Nancy + Justin's Lexington Wedding
Justin and I carefully planned the menu and wine list for the evening. We met with the chef and he keyed in on our personalities to create a "New York meets Kentucky" five course meal. We loved it!
Keeneland has been a special place to me for as long as I can remember. When Justin and I visited there while we were dating, we felt romance in the air and a sense of comfort, home.
Above all, the flowers made the experience magical! We both LOVE flowers. I feel they can tell a story, and the design by Ben Bland captured our excitement and gratitude over our unexpected journey to this special day.
Neither of us is big on cake, but we love other desserts. We decided to do dessert family style (part of the Kentucky influence on the meal). Salted caramel & lemon macarons, opera cake, and a chocolate ganache tartlet were the desserts served.
Everyone who knows me knows how important my family and home are to me. Almost from the beginning, Justin and I agreed we feel that sense of home when we are together, it didn't matter that we grew up hundreds of miles from each other. So, "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Kreviazuk from "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days” was a perfect choice for our first dance.
Bride’s Advice: People always say, 'slow down and enjoy the day'. Well, that's hardly possible. The day flies by - nothing you can do about that. I would suggest asking friends to take lots of pictures during the reception. Since we couldn't be with everyone the whole night, I wanted to see how they all enjoyed the evening.
